This ham and cheese focaccia with onion made with Thermomix was our last experience and we all liked it very much.
If you do not have this kitchen robot you can use any mixer, or join the ingredients by hand. I assure you that the result will be equally delicious. Play with the amounts of ingredients to adjust them to your liking, although the ones I give you are quite successful. I hope you like it as much as we do.
Ingredients for 8 people
- 100 g of Emmental cheese in pieces, 200 g of water, 75 g of extra virgin olive oil, 25 g of fresh-pressed yeast, 400 g of strength flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of dried thyme (and a little more to sprinkle), 1 tablespoon of dried oregano, 100 g of diced ham, 1/2 onion (about 100 g) cut into thin slices and 1 pinch of salt.
How to make ham and cheese focaccia with onion
We start by preheating the oven to 220ºC. We put the cheese in the glass and grate it 5 sec/vel 6. Remove to a bowl and reserve. We put in the glass the water, 25 g of oil and the yeast. Mix 1 min / vel 2.
Add the salt, flour, thyme, oregano, ham, and reserved cheese. Mix 10 sec/vel 4 and then knead 2 min/vel spike. We remove the dough from the glass and make a ball.
We grease a tray that can go to the oven with oil and cover it with the dough, which we will spread with the help of our hands. We put the onion on top, spreading it well, sprinkle with salt and thyme and water with the remaining oil.
Crush the dough with your fingers so that the ingredients are well integrated into the dough. The surface will be irregular but it is the effect that we should look for. Bake about 20 minutes, take out of the oven and serve.

In order to enjoy this recipe of ham and cheese focaccia with onion made with Thermomix in all its splendor, I advise you to eat it right after removing it from the oven. If you let it cool too much the texture will not be the same, even if it is equally tasty. The aroma of herbs that it gives off is absolutely tempting.
